I think I have supported B. Dalton all by myself. Well...almost. I have only seen one B. Dalton Software store. When I was living in tampa florida. Since I am now back in the sticks(small town u.s.a.) can anyone tell me if B. Dalton now has more of these stores? Talk about a good book selection. 3/4 of the store was all computer related books. It was like a dream I never thought would come true. I loved it! srh

I recently entered one searching for good C books or old Apple ref manuals and the like. No dice. Very little Apple specific there that we could find, but there was an excellent selection of languages and a plethoria of MS-DOS machine manuals. Yes, there are few decent computer book stores today and you are in luck to come across on{. As far as I can tell, there are four of them within 10 miles of me (one within 3). However, there's only one of them that seems to have a good book selection anymore. I dropped by a few of them recently and discovered that they'd removed most of the books regarding more technical subjects and instead filled out the space with more application books (Lotus 1-2-3, etc.). I can still order the books I want, assuming I know the name and/or author, through any of the Software Etc. stores. Dalton Software store. I have also supported that store in the purchase of books and some software. I would like to hear from other net-landers if there are any good software stores in the San Antonio, TX area, as I will be going there in 4 weeks. I speak for myself and not for those that I work for.

Daltons that I know of (Rosedale, Brookdale, across Ridgedale, Southdale, and City Center for you Minnesotans). They used to be very good, and in some ways even better then the university bookstores in certain subareas, but they have deteriorated dramatically over the last few months, to the point where they now have only Lotus, MSDOS, and other similar books essentially. Dalton Software store here in Pittsburgh at our Monroeville Mall. We have other B. Daltons in the area, but this is the only one that I know of that has a software store. Nice place. Jon M. In Minnesota, the B. Dalton Stores have splintered off their computer stuff
into B Dalton, Software ETC. stores in the major malls in the twin City
area. You might check this out.

Yes...there's one of these Software ETC here in Worcester MA, in the Greendale Mall. Not bad, but the hardware support for apple is low -> none. For example, modems only for the IBMs... :-( (They recommended I go to Computerland to find a modem...went to Lechemere next door and got a great price on a Packard Bell PB2400PLUS...Oh well :-) ) This store does have good prices on software and books, though...and is quite well stocked.
