[comp.sys.apple] Need floppy drive for 2E

My kids have an Apple 2E whose external floppy has died. I have
received estimates of $170 to replace the card or $270 is it is
a mechanical problem. Has anyone a less expensive suggestion? 
Where might I get a used drive and would that make sense?
