[comp.sys.apple] Help with A.E Datalink

sreed@pro-cyon.UUCP (Steve Reed) (06/18/89)

To Morgan (or anyone with an answer)-
Recently I bought the Applied Eng (Data Link) modem and software. It
is supposed to be able to give you on line printing abilities. However I have
not been able to get it to function. When you use the open-o or open-p
commands as instructed the keyboard locks up and the printer starts printing
non-stop 0's.
I'm using an enhanced apple ][e with a parrellel card hooked to a
Okidata U92 microline. Any ideas on where the problem might be and how I can
get this to function???
                Thank's in advance
                        -Steve Reed-

Sounds like you might have an incompatible printer card (or perhaps your
printer card isn't in slot 1). DataTerm works best with Pascal 1.1 firmware
compatible printer cards which includes just about every card now on the
market. It also works with some (though probably not all) BASIC firmware
compatible cards but uses the Pascal firmware if it can find it.
