Commodore offers a really great RGB monitor, and I have seen them for less than Apple's RGB monitor. Every model of RGB monitor that I have seen for the Amiga is capable of Analog RGB, Digital RGB, and NTSC input (like from a VCR) all switchable from the fron panel. The problem is that the thing (or maybe the Apple //gs) has a screwed up RGB plug. Has anyone tried interfacing a //gs to an Amiga monitor? For the money (around $300) and its capabilities, it would be a real deal... jeremy mereness jm7e+@andrew.cmu.edu (arpa) r746jm7e@cmcccvb (bitnet)

Is this the 1084 or 1084s monitor you are talking about? I saw one once, and thought that the picture quality wasn't quite as good as the GS monitor. Dave Seah (dseah@wpi.wpi.edu)

Actually I think that the RGB monitor that Apple produces is better than the Amiga's RGB monitor. The Apple monitor has a higher dot pitch. I've connected the Apple monitor to an Amiga, and compared the two monitors side by side. But the nice thing about the Amiga monitor is the analog, digital, and separate video inputs, as well as audio. I can use my Amiga monitor with both my Amiga and my C64 because of it. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------+ | This message does in no way reflect the views or opinions of | | any organization. A lot of mail order houses are offering some 'Magnavox RGB 14"' along side Apple's genuine monitors. However, they cost under $300 I believe. Does anyone know about these? I am looking to upgrade the amber monitor for my //GS, but apple's genuine is prohibitively expensive, esp. if you want Appleworks 3.0, ORCA/C and an Inner Drive.
