I need some serious help: does anyone have drivers for this card? The manual is not very helpful, and the card's ROM is obviously messed up. It may be because it's running in a II+, and was made for a //e, but I believe there should be a way to make it usable by ProDOS. I have used it successfully with Ascii Express Pro, but I am attempting to write a bulletin board program, and the drivers in AE are all in one file. I can't find them, so if anyone out there has any information, it would be greatly appreciated. [Problems with AST Multi-I/O card deleted]
I think I know what your problem is. Most communications packages assume
that you are using an Apple Super Serial Card (SSC) or compatible, based
on the 6551 ACIA. The AST Multi-I/O card is 6850 ACIA based, and probably
more along the line of Apples older Communications card.
What you will need to do is review an old Apple Communications manual, and
a 6850 ACIA data sheets. I can help you with both if need be.
