Matt -- tnx for the SCSI article in info-apple. Two things, however, weren't clear. 1) Except for booting, when obviously you have to use the firmware on the card, when a driver (SCSI.DRIVER or SCSI.MANAGER) is installed, is the firmware on the interface card used or is it bypassed? 2) Obviously the drivers have to "know" about the interface card and the SCSI protocol -- how "much" do they (and the on-card firmware) have to "know" about the attached devices? (just curious; no immediate application in mind.)
