I recently had some problems with my hard drive so I reformatted it, and attempted to restore the files I have backed up with Backup II from Apple. I have the drive partitioned as 2 drives (same as before I reformated it) but Backup II won't restore *either* drive. One drive it restored the first directory (just the directory, not its contents) and then stopped with an error message like "unmatching date/time stamps." The second drive it restored up through the first backup 3.5" disk, but then stopped with "operation complete," when it obviously wasn't because the backup for that drive takes up several 3.5" disks! When I tried the backing up from the 2nd backup volume it just gives the error message "not first backup volume." I tried doing both drives with "restore by volume" and "restore by pathname", neither working. I have never restored from Backup II before, but this seems like it is definitely not doing what it should! I would very much appreciate any help or suggestions. My software is backed up on the original disks, but all my data is only on the Backup II backup now. Thanks. Jeff Hartkopf Internet: hartkopf@tramp.Colorado.EDU
