Does anyone have some basic code to get the modem to pick up the phone, answer it, and adjust to the right baud?

>Does anyone have some basic code to get the modem to pick up the phone, answer >it, and adjust to the right baud? > Assuming it's a Hayes compativle modem, what's wrong with just entering terminal mode and sending the modem ATS0=1 (answer on the first ring; the modem will autobaud detect within it's range -- a 1200 baud modem won't adjust to 2400 :-) Murph Sewall Vaporware? ---> [Gary Larson returns 1/1/90] Prof. of Marketing Sewall@UConnVM.BITNET Business School sewall%uconnvm.bitnet@mitvma.mit.edu [INTERNET] U of Connecticut {psuvax1 or mcvax }!UCONNVM.BITNET!SEWALL [UUCP] (203) 486-5246 [FAX] (203) 486-2489 [PHONE] 41 49N 72 15W [ICBM] -+- I don't speak for my employer, though I frequently wish that I could (subject to change without notice; void where prohibited)

Have you tried using Modemworks? That program will help you with whatever you want to do in Basic while working with a modem. APTC1%MKVAX1@MSUS1.BITNET
