[comp.sys.apple] Mac disks on Apples

kodali@portia.Stanford.EDU (VAS KODALI) (07/18/89)

Is there an Apple ][ family equivalent of AFX (Apple File Exchange) that the
Macintoshes have? I regularly download files on the Mac at work (just toss the
telcom program into the background under multifinder & do _real_ work on the
top :) and sometimes forget to convert the HFS files to PDOS. I've tried
finding file formats and such for HFS disks, but they seem to be non-existent..

Help?

There is a program archived on Apple2-L (whose name I forget) which
will translate files on 400K Mac disks to Prodos. However, if you forget
to use AFE, you're certainly going to forget to save them onto 400K disks,
so it won't do you any good.

Hopefully, one of these days Apple will finally come out with its HFS
FST to solve all our problems.
