____________________________________________________________ Hello, Now here's a toughie... Since I got the clone (and now I pay the piper), I'm finding it most difficult to repair my Laser 128. Firstly, I thought my second drive was dead, as it had read/write/seek errors... and then while I had it over at a friends for him to test on his analyzer, the INTERAL drive started to much up the same. Actually, the interal drive decided to erase my diskettes as I put them in... mainly all of my diagnostic software. Anyways, we figured this is too much of a coincidense, and after taking the second drive ( the one originally thought to be dead) to someone's house for a test drive... it worked fine. This fully leads us to be- lieve it's the drive-controller circuit on the Laser's mother- board. Oh what fun... the usual solve to these problems is to switch out the board... but in this case, that's the whole computer. Let's see here. Does anyone have an IDEA what this is doing? Does anyone have ADVICE as to where I can get that circuit in the motherboard repaired? Does anyone truely be- leive I'm SOL? By the way, for those that use the Laser - I have an additional problem. I don't have the technical reference manual for the thing. If I could be supplied the address, I would most appreciate it. I have the User's Manual, but not the rest. All in all, I really do like this machine, it's only main failing I see is that the modem serial ports does not support interrupts -- that's cut my use of alot of comm s/w to a minimum. Cordially, A.
