I am the person who formatted the Corvus drive with Copy II+.. We have an older drive (pre-ProDOS) at school, and instead of doing what our local Apple dealer told us was the only way to Corvus+ProDOS, trading in the drive for $800 store credit, we contacted a Tom Vier out of Washington, DC, who sent us his Corvus ROM upgrade (the name of the upgrade eludes me for the moment.. The cost was $75, and I read about it in a back issue of A+ dealing w/ networking (A+: RIP!!)) The instructions with the chip told us to use a 'standard' ProDOS disk format routine, such as that found in Copy II+. It worked out fine, but realize that the format did NOT do a 'full track format', but indeed just wrote new bitmaps and directories. It also didn't do any sort of verification, which took about 15 minutes to run with Copy II+. Network Comment: to #2486 by pnet01!crash!trout.nosc.mil!pnet01!pro-palace!r.a.a. I'interested in your Corvus upgrade. Does the unit now boot directly into Prodos (and particularly OS4 or 5) or does it do a DOS 3.3 boot and then switchover.
