1. I have a Ramworks II board in my unenhanced ][e. Does anyone know if there is a way to use the Prodos Ram without loosing files apon reboot? The provided program that came with the board accesses the board as either a partitioned memory area for Dos 3.3 or as a whole unit for Prodos use. The problem is that when I store and utilize files in Ram there is a high chance of running into a system error. You know the type where normal commands entered return the aggrivating ?Syntax Error. Anyhow, in most cases I resort to hitting Ctrl-reset-Open apple for boot. This results in my having to reaccess the Ram area with the Provided software once again, and in doing so the files in Ram are lost. Any ideas on how to avoid loosing files in Ram? (besides the obvious of "don't do it".) 2. The second question has to do with Basic. I've been programming in Rexx for a while so my Basic is a bit rusty. What I'd like to do is create a stack with the list of names cataloged on a disk and then be able to pull from the stack thereafter. If it were possible I'd like to make it simple like running a program and storing a name in a variable, then apon execution of the next program I could call up the stored variable. Any idea of how to do this? [Note: Pardon my first question, it is a repeat to the Bitnet ppl.] Douglas Howell Xc60039@Portland USM Gorham Maine 04644

I have programmed in REXX and like it much more than AppleSoft. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chumley@Bazaar.Deva.COM | A Bureaucrat is a person who -aka- EARLSJ@AFAL-Edwards.AF.MIL | cuts red tape sideways. -aka- jearls@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU |

When you re-boot your system, press one of the Apple-keys (I believe it's Open-Apple, but I'm not 100% sure & don't have my manual handy) when the RAMdisk driver is being installed; that should prevent it from wiping out all existing files on the RAM disk. > Douglas Howell Xc60039@Portland USM Gorham Maine 04644 Thomas Thomas Wieland Email: thomasw@jupiter.cs.concordia.ca Dept. of Computer Science or: thomasw@concour.cs.concordia.ca Concordia University Montreal, PQ Canada Phone: (514) 848-3039
