Tnx to all who answered my question. I think I'm satisfied -- it sounds like code that is in a resource fork is not going to be executed unless it is part of the application (e.g., comes as part of the shipped applicaiton) or part of the system start up procedures or similar things, i.e., I don't need to worry at all about code that might happened to lie in a resource fork that was maliciously packaged along with a data file: that code isn't going to get executed.
