[comp.sys.apple] resource forks and viruses

TMPLee@DOCKMASTER.NCSC.MIL (07/27/89)

Tnx to all who answered my question. I think I'm satisfied -- it sounds
like code that is in a resource fork is not going to be executed unless
it is part of the application (e.g., comes as part of the shipped
applicaiton) or part of the system start up procedures or similar
things, i.e., I don't need to worry at all about code that might
happened to lie in a resource fork that was maliciously packaged along
with a data file: that code isn't going to get executed.
