[comp.sys.apple] Fragile ImageWriter II Sheet Feeder?

L77%TAUNOS@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU (Yoram Ney) (07/27/89)

Inqiring into the possibility of buying a sheet-feeder for my ImageWriterII,
I have heard several times (including from an Apple dealer) that it has a
typical problem of fragility repeating with a big part of these feeders
(Something like a hinge breaking off very easily & often). So bad that it's
not worse buying.

Can anyone owning/having owned/not owning but familiar with- Apple's
Imagewriter II Sheet-Feeder confirm/refute/comment?

Thanks in advance

Imagewriter II Sheet-feeder will break a hinge if it is abused. This
translates into warning anyone that uses them How to use them. We have had
1 out of 6 break. This single one was fairly old, and was used without
the warning. If the Sheetfeeder is used carefully, nothing will break.
But...this should not be the case, and Apple should strengthen the hinge,
or use something other than plastic for it.

I could care less though, as I always use a laserwriter, much quicker and
cleaner.
