There is a GOOD reason for NOT typing in Joe Bob. It's called copyright.
It's called illegal. It's called all sorts of things, not nice. We've
argued about this for months. It basically comes down to this-- You don't
want Joe Bob stealing copies of your software, he doesn't want us to steal
copies of his column. Read it in the paper where he gets royalties, or get
your paper to carry it (write letters-- it works!). Don't steal his
paycheck from him, and don't implicate the network in the legal liabilities
involved.

There IS a good reason for not typing in Joe Bob. It's called boredom. When
I first read him, I thought he was a real asshole, a typical redneck. Then
I realized that he wasn't really that bad, that he was just like a little
kid who wants to show you how many days in a row he can wear the same old
dirty underwear; just a sort of tasteless person who doesn't realize how
silly he is. After that, his reviews have seemed just plain dull.

Oh, I realize some people think he's satirical, but you can't make fun of
the same old things in the same old ways over and over again and expect it
to remain fresh. No, if Joe Bob were really satirical, his articles would
not have become so monotonous.

So, please don't put him on.

I'm sure that, if you're really concerned about copyright laws, you could
contact the paper to get permission for inclusion on notes. In most cases
I can think of, though, inclusion of information on the source satisfies
the copyright laws. Also, the copyright laws usually state that no use
without permission may be used for comercial gain.

There is a reason for putting the Joe Bob Briggs articles on the net.

It's called fun!
