I have been asked to find a Public Domain or Shareware comm program for the Apple IIGS for a coworker. Not having access to one I'm wondering if anyone out there in netland can help me. Kermit or Xmodem protocol would be a real help. Your main problem is that UUCP hasn't access to 'ftp' and the list servers don't seem to like UUCP addresses :-( The software you're looking for: public domain - Kermit-65 (version 3.85) does a nice VT100 and a bare bones XModem as well as Kermit (of course) UUCP and Kermit access to the complete Kermit distribution is available from the Department of Computing and Information Sciences, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma. The procedures are somewhat complicated, and are described in a separate file, AANOKS.HLP. (I'll send you the file under separate cover, it's too large for general posting) shareware - Z.Link written by Dave Whitney does VT100 XModem, YModem, and lots of other alphabet modems (I think). Available on Genie and other places - ask Dave Whitney A junior (well, a senior) in Computer Science at MIT dcw@athena.mit.edu ...!bloom-beacon!athena.mit.edu!dcw dcw@goldilocks.mit.edu author: Z-Link & BinSCII.
