Of course, having Bird's Better Bye built-in is much nicer, no extra file in the Main directory, and when you put PRODOS on another disk, the program selector automatically moves along with it. I would just recommend that folks not try to install the "Bye" themselves, leave it up to someone who knows a bit more about it.. namely Alan. I'm sure he's got a PRODOS 1.8 with Bird's Better Bye.. or will shortly. --Mark Munz

Network Comment: to #9988 by mmunz@pro-beagle.cts.com Perhaps, Alan Bird should write a BBB.SYSTEM which patches the Quit code in RAM after booting a PRODOS disk. That way it would work with any future version of PRODOS (more than likely) and alleviate the need for users to have to do surgery on their PRODOS files. I'm not one to perform surgery at the hexidecimal level and would hate to miss one byte or something and really tear things up. I always shudder when I get instructions telling me to bload something at some location and then start typing in the monitor. Argh. ______________________________________________________________________________ paul@pro-europa.cts.com | "Open the pod bay door HAL" ...!crash!pnet01!pro-nsfmat!pro-europa!paul | "Sorry Dave, I can't do that"
