I just acquired an Apple //e system that has a problem. It seems that the power supply can't hack the initial load when it is first turned on. If I disconnect the supply and then turn it on, it works. I can even plug the connector into the board and run the system. Does anyone have any experience fixing this problem. I'm willing to tackle the supply, but without schematics, I'd rather just benefit from someone else's experience. (Alternatively, anyone have schematics?) email preferred. Thanks! Network Comment: to #4197 by hp-pcd!hpcvca!mjr@hplabs.hp.com I had an Apple IIe power supply with exactly the same symptoms. After scratching my head about it for the longest time, I found the problem was a defective hi-voltage capactor connected across a winding of the main transformer. Schematics for the Apple Power Supply are available in the Sams Photofacts for the Apple IIe. Highly reccommended!
