Video Technology has finally released the Laser 128 EX/2, the third in the line of Laser Apple compatibles. It features all the original featres of the Laser 128 EX (built in parallel and serial ports, 80-column card, memory expansion board, expansion slot, mouse/joystick port, accelerator, etc.) and adds these features: self-recharging ProDOS clock that works automatically with Appleworks, a built-in software "control panel" that allows for adjustment of operating speed, a modified serial port that has limited interface with MIDI (by pressing a switch). They are available through mail order for about $450-$480. The best feature of all is that it comes with your choice of a built in 3.5 or 5.25 drive (up to four drives can be daisychained).

Someone (in Canada) posted that the /2 WAS out in Canada. I've been looking
into one of these, soooooo I looked for Sept. inCider, and sure enough in
Canadian Computer Outlet's ad they have it advertized for $599. 2 Questions:
1. They mean Canadian dollars, right? How much is that in American $$$?
2. Does it's clock return seconds and the day of week?
3. (so I lied...) Is there anyplace that'll ship to the States?
ADVthanksANCE
-Tom
