I like to use ".bsc"; it seems to be the closest to being pronouncable. ".bin" would be nicer, if it weren't for the fact that it would be hopelessly confused with the "BIN" filetype. Other personal "standards" are: .bsc ==> Binscii .asc ==> ASCII (used primarily differentiate from Binscii) .exe ==> EXECable text file (Executioner format, for example) .doc ==> Documentation or general text file .txt ==> Same as ".doc"; which I use depends on moon phase more than anything .bny ==> Binary ][ .bqy ==> Squeezed Binary ][ .shk ==> ShrinkIt Those are what I use when uploading to local BBSs, anyway.
