Does anyone out there have any info on FSTs apart from GSOS release notes? The current version of The Graphic Exchange (version 4.0 GSOS) will not read a Mac or DOS 3.3 disk directly as versions 2.X and 3.X did. This is because I have relied on standard system calls and on Apple coming up with the goods. Unfortunately they have not - at least as yet. At present, the only way to get a file to/from the Mac is to Apple File Exchange it on a Mac (Who has a Mac anyway?), or to read/write it over an Appleshare network using the System 5.0 Appleshare FST (Who has an Appleshare net anyway?). I was even quite willing to write my own - after all I have all the necessary code, I just need to know the interfaces and file format. However, my response from Apple in Oz (yes, I live down under) on request for the docs was NO CAN DO. This also means that I will never be able to support Newsroom Clip Art as in the previous version as it relies on a custom OS and would need an FST written (obviously Apple will never write such a beast). Does anyone out there have such docs? - if so let me know where I can get hold of them. Has anyone seen these FSTs working? - from my enquiries I suspect that at least the Mac FST is complete, there seems to be some other reason for not releasing it (FSTs in Mac System 7.0?). In addition, I am still on the look out for details of any graphic file formats to incorporate into The Graphic Exchange (in particular, the GIF format, PC Paintbrush format, all Print Shop GS formats {full panel graphics, fonts, etc}, Print Magic etc). -- Internet: johnmac@fawlty.towers.oz.au Phone: +61 2 427 2999 UUCP: uunet!fawlty.towers.oz.au!johnmac Fax: +61 2 427 7072 Snail: Tower Technology 31-33 Sirius Rd, Lane Cove, NSW 2066, Australia.
