I seem to remember someone bringing up a problem like this once before, so if the question is redundant, hopefully someone will be able to summarize for me. The problem is; the power supply on my Apple 2e "buzzes" when I switch it on. I might have described it as a clicking noise, also. When it does this, the light on my floppy comes on, and seems to be flashing in time with the buzzing of the power supply. The power indicator light inside the computer does the same thing. When the power supply is plugged in and turned on without being connected to the motherboard, it still buzzes. What could be the problem? Luckily I was able to borrow a power supply temporarily, but I don't want to risk killing this one too. The ole 2e has been through three power supplies now, all of them breaking within the last year. Any suggestions other than "throw it away"? Rob Heiser robert_heiser@cup.portal.com

It is very possible that the power supply, in it's old age, is less capable of pulling enough current. If you run the Apple in your House, make sure the Air-c onditioning is not pulling the current alonne. If there was a serious problem w ith the supplly, it wouldn't work. The drive flashing, etc., indicates hardware problems linked to a lack of current.
