OK, I have receved the files and "TEXT transfered them down" The problem is that I can't get it to work with my DATALINK 1200/2400 modem. It seems to destroy the second file when you run the installer. (Lucky I have a spare! ) Is there anyway to get it to work? Or shall I throw out my apple and get a Mac? 8-) (just kidding)

On Tue, 12 Sep 89 21:38:00 -0900 you said: >is that I can't get it to work with my DATALINK 1200/2400 modem. It seems I believe the DATALINK appears to software as if it is a Hayes connected to a Super Serial Card. Does the DataLink support interrupts (I recall someone telling me once that it does); are the interrupts 'on' (on a real SSC microswitch SW2-6 has to be 'on')? >to destroy the second file when you run the installer. (Lucky I have a spare! It TELLS you that right there in the directions at the top of the first file! I always make a copy too -- downloading again and again CAN get frustrating! >) Is there anyway to get it to work? No doubt; it works for the rest of us (although problems GETTING it to work the first time are <alas> not unusual). I take it you have a BIN file that runs and loads KERMIT.INIT? Then what? Your message appears similar to others who CONNECT and can't get the text to appear on the screen (although ATH1 should bring up a dial tone). If that's the case then the DATALINK isn't configured to support interrupts. The best choice is to activate interrupts, but if that's not possible, install the Microtek 622 driver. You DID get APPLE.DOC and have your host's printer make you a copy (when all else fails, try the directions :-) Murph Sewall Vaporware? ---> [Gary Larson returns 1/1/90] Prof. of Marketing Sewall@UConnVM.BITNET Business School sewall%uconnvm.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu [INTERNET] U of Connecticut {psuvax1 or mcvax }!UCONNVM.BITNET!SEWALL [UUCP] (203) 486-5246 [FAX] (203) 486-2489 [PHONE] 41 49N 72 15W [ICBM] The opposite of artificial intelligence is genuine stupidity! -+- I don't speak for my employer, though I frequently wish that I could (subject to change without notice; void where prohibited)

You should have a binary file with a name something like KER385 which you can BRUN, either under Dos 3.3 or under Prodos. Alan H.
