[comp.sys.apple] Demo version of TIC

delton@pro-carolina.cts.com (System Administrator) (09/12/89)

Because of requests from potential TIC (Talk is Cheap) users, I've prepared a
demonstration version of TIC with limited features. The following changes
have been made to this demonstration version of TIC 3.10:

        all printing gone
all downloading and uploading via protocol gone
        all emulations gone
        text uploads gone
        editor gone

The copy buffer and the parts of the script language not mentioned above are
all fully functional.

This demo version will soon be uploaded to CIS, GEnie, and my own ProLine site
(see the .signature below for the number). Leave me email if you need any
more info on this as I don't regularly read info-apple any more. Thanks.

I'm always on the lookout for a better term. program. But if a demo
version is so bare it doesn't do anything. Whats the use of even trying
it? One thing I'm currently looking for is better handing of downloading
and uploading. If your demo won't do it, what's the use in trying it???

I'm confused in your reason for the demo version.....
(I've never used TIC although people have tried to convince me to.)

Obviously if the demo did everything the full version did then there wouldn't
be much reason for most people to buy the program if they could get by with
the demo. You'll just have to take my word for it and the word of thousands
of satisfied users that the transfer stuff works as advertised. Most programs
handle file transfers ok though... the thing that sets TIC apart from the rest
of the world is that it has a very powerful scripting capability which is left
almost 100% intact in the demo. This is the feature, aside from the ease of
use and general speed, that sells most users. The demo isn't intended to give
you somethingfor nothing... I'm just not in a generous mood these days.
