Here's the problem: My brother has fallen in love with the Apple IIc+. He needs an AppleWorks machine that has a small footprint, likes 3.5" disks, and can do other things too. But Apple (er, Mac) Canada, in its infinite wisdom, has decided not to import the Apple IIc+ because "there's no market for it". This is hardly plausible, but what do you expect from Apple Canada? Apple II's make up about 5% (don't quote me) of their sales, so they don't care. My brother is willing to order one from a dealer in the U.S., but Apple Canada will (a) not service it, (b) won't sell AppleCare for it, and (c) won't get parts for it. So, its left to us to import it, service it, and maintain it. <good user support!> Any suggestions? Perhaps ordering from a dealer near the Canadian/American border? Will American AppleCare work if we ship it back to the dealer if service is needed? Generally, will American Apple dealers do this sort of thing? Rather frustrating... BTW: AppleCare for the IIgs and IIc is now $168 CDN! (up from $60) Thanks in advance (and to those who answered my questions about the CM. MemorySaver...) Do you know where now Niagara Falls, U.S. is? I have a student who works in the computer section of the Summit Park Mall (technically in the town of Wheatfiled). He informs me that they cannot keep enought Lazer's instock to meet the Canadian demand. If you know someone around the Golden Horseshoe, chances are pretty good that they shop in Niagara Falls , U.S. How they get it home (minor problem of customs) is another topic. Good luck.
