does anyone know where i can get a backgrounder for GS/OS that works under Finder? Right now I have Mural but that works under everything BUT Finder. Also (Matt and Dave take note please) WHY is the gs Finder so sloppy about window scroll bar sizing and Cleaning up? WHY can't I put a folder on the desktop (mac can do it). And will the next Finder put all the desktop info in JUST ONE FILE? (lots faster.) How about organizing file reads and writes by queueing all the blocks until all the buffers are used, and then reading? This would speed up multi-file copies like anything because the 1:1 interleave feature (nice one, that) would have more information to go on. No flames please; I love the new software, but it does still need some work. This double standard Apple seems to have about keeping the internals secret (i.e. FSTs) and then writing dangerously interdependent code is IMHO a real lose. Rigorous guidelines I can deal with (actually they're welcome at this point) but proprietary is NOT what the Apple II has stood for all these years. I suppose there must be good reasons, but I can't figure out what. Also, when will we see an HFS FST??? Apple File Exchange Mac to ProDOS is so slow (it seeks track 0 before EVERY block write) but the other way around is nice and fast. Please beat on somebody, it can't be that hard to do...
