I've just started using GS/OS System Disk 5.0, and I've been seeing the following: GS/OS System Error Address $02D19D LC bank = $0 Error Code: $0002 I also saw address $00A516 once. This usually (but not always, unfortunately) seems to occur when launching a P8 program from ProSEL-16 7.8 I'm running a //GS w 1.25 Meg, Rom 01 with the minimum and maximum RAM disk settings both at 256K. Does anyone know what this is trying to tell me? Also, does anyone know of a _Beneath Apple GS/OS_ or equivalent kind of book? My student's budget doest have space in it for the plethora of apple reference manuals. Last thing: does anyone know of a CDA that will change the slots from your card to modem port without having to reboot? I need to switch between my modem in slot 2 and the modem port (for xfering data between computers) and rebooting all the time is inconvenient. Thanks in advance. If you can use Memory Peeker or whatever to find the memory block containing $02D19D on your system, and give me all the info about that block (ID, size, starting address), there's a fair chance I can figure out what's happening. >I also saw address $00A516 once. Now *that* one I recognize. It's caused by GS/OS's out-of-memory-queue routine trying to dispose of the cache when the memory is needed by something else. Under 5.0, if you have just the wrong amount of stuff in the cache, you get that fatal error. System Software 5.0.2 does not have this problem. >Last thing: does anyone know of a CDA that will change the slots from >your card to modem port without having to reboot? Such CDAs exist, but you may make GS/OS stop being your friend: it generates a character device driver for your serial port. -- --Dave Lyons, Apple Computer, Inc. | DAL Systems AppleLink--Apple Edition: DAVE.LYONS | P.O.
