I contacted Electronic Arts today regarding the problems some of us have been having with DeluxePaint II. They were very cordial but told me that they currently had no plans for an upgrade as they don't know whether the problem is with the new operating system release (5.0) or in the program itself. The puzzling part (to them) is that it works for some folks and not for others. I suggested that when people call in, to ask them how much memory they have and see if a trend begins to form. I have seen with DiskTimer V2.0 that the program bombs with 1.25M machines but not on machines with 2megs or greater. The same may be true with DPII. They are currently waiting for the update from Apple to System Software 5.0 to see if that clears up any of the problems.
