[comp.sys.apple] Apple Robotics

dtroup@carroll1.UUCP (David C. Troup - Skunk Works : 2600hz) (10/05/89)

Does anyone out there own FisherTechnik's Apple Robotics interface or
any of the corresponding parts? Im interested in getting in contact
with those who have experimented with this cheap approach to robotics
	and computer controlled external devices.

	Later....

There is a company in Portland, Maine by the name of Harper Electronics that
made a robot control device some time ago. Harper is an Apple Computer dealer
and I believe they still sell this unit. I don't have the number handy, but
the area code is 207.

btw, Rex Harper (hence the name Harper Electronics) is the person that created
the game 'SIMON'. The last time I was in the store (about 3 years ago) they
had the original prototype board sitting in one of their display cases.

I don't have any connection with Harper other than I have purchased products
from them when I lived in Portland.

As for robotic equipment for an Apple...
There's a company in Fargo ND that makes a pretty nifty little arm that
you can hook up to a //e (not sure what else). We had one at our high
school, and there's a LOT you can do with it. It comes with its own
software and all. I don't have an address or phone number, but if you
would like, I can get them (if they are still in business).
Until then,

It was L&M incorporated, or something like that. I remember thinking it
reminded me of L&L productions. That's about as much as I remember..
