Comment to message from: agate!helios.ee.lbl.gov!pasteur!cory.Berkeley.EDU!fadden@ucbvax.berkeley.edu (Andy McFadden) I was messing around with the finder today, and I got to thinking, wouldn't it be convinent to be able to unshrink NuFX files from the desktop. Is there anyway you could make a release of your upcoming packer program in the form on of a NDA? Actually, the idea for a NDA NuFX archiver wouldn't be that hard. The code for the compression routines are already public domain, so it would just be a matter of putting it into desk accessory format. Joe "Isn't the plural of digital digitalia?"

The LZW used by ShrinkIt is very much different from ones used in other archivers or compressors, and has not (to my knowledge) been released into the public domain. It has taken me a few months to write a NuFX archiver... putting *anything* interactive into an NDA is no small task either. >Joe -- fadden@cory.berkeley.edu (Andy McFadden) ...!ucbvax!cory!fadden

I'd rather have a CDA archiver so that it could be used even when the desktop wasn't around. It would seem to be more useful to me... _________________________________________________________ | | | Eric Merrill tippy!emerrill@newton.physics.purdue.edu | | | | My other witty .sig is in the shop being repaired. | |_________________________________________________________|
