Which I'd like to see in the software for the GSx+turboextended someday!]??? Now it seems not only do they give more support to the Mac, they seem to even forget their OWN INFAMOUS nondisclosure policy...for things relating to the Mac only... -- unknown@ucscb.ucsc.edu

Apple used the 1989 Worldwide Developers Conference to state *direction* of System Software, not to announce it. It is apparent that Apple feels System 7.0 is very important to the future of the company, and it was necessary to give developers some idea of where we are headed in the early 1990s. This was a first in company history, and it was stated that we wanted to do more of it with developers. You might see some of that "more" with Apple II developers, but it probably won't happen unless there are major *direction* changes with the Apple II line. As long as the direction stays the same, you probably won't see statements like that made in a public forum. -- Mark B. Not only (as he said) is 7.0 not announced, but IIgs System Software 5.0 *was* announced, about three months before it shipped. No one seems to want to remember that. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt Deatherage, Apple Computer, Inc. | "The opinions expressed in this tome Send PERSONAL mail ONLY (please) to: | should not be construed to imply that Amer. In-Reply-To: message from mmunz@pro-beagle.cts.com Does this mean that since sys5.0 is like maac7.0 that we can expect virtual memory for the GS? Isure hope so I have this second 3.5 drive not doing anything right now. :-) I didn't really want to respond to this letter, but the BBS forced me too. Honest.
