[comp.sys.apple] LaserWriter Drivers

gt0t+@ANDREW.CMU.EDU (Gregory Ross Thompson) (11/10/89)

I've got a problem. I've been printing (or trying to) on a very
busy appletalk, and I've run into a problem. While someone else is
printing, I get the normal message about waiting. Then, it just quits
out of the print mode. So I go back in. It prepares the data, and
quits again. This happens in every application, so it's not
application specific. I was told that when a LaserWriter Plus (which
I am printing to) feeds the paper through, it stops sending status for
about 5 or 7 seconds. This causes the Print Manager to think that the
laserwriter has died. Is this true? Is there an easy way for me to
change the timeout period? Like editing a few bytes in the driver?

  Any help will be appreciated...
