[comp.sys.apple] Modems: what should I buy?

Any way you slice it you'll need a serial card. An internal modem is a
possibility, try AE 2400 (prolink?). My Supra modem 2400 has worked flawlessly
since I purchased it (two weeks now!). 2400 is the slowest speed in a modem
that you will want.

Silentype might be claiming an interupt from the CP/M card? try a different
slot? I dunno?
Choose the most appropriate answer please.

Speaking of modems, I am also interested in buying a modem for an Apple II+
(64 K extended). I was interested in the AE Datalink also. BUT, will a
9600 Baud modem on an ancient(??) computer like mine. Believe it or not,
the machine I have still has only one drive. I was turned off by Apples'
overall dumping of any good software (other than games) for its II series.
I know, there are a "few" good programs out there. ANYWAY, if anyone
out there can give me some good advice on modems for Apples II+ (NOT E)
, please...e-mail me or post thru network.
PS do you need a communications software for a modem or are the salesmen
trying to sell me something I don't need??
Thanks, and excuse me for my ignorance on modems,
