Today in the San Jose Mercury News there was an interview with Del Yocam, the president of Apple Pacific.. He is leaving Apple today, after 10 years. Del Yocam is the "last high level manager remaining from the halcyon days when the company was run by a pair of young, exuberant kids named Steve." What a bummer... Becoming bluer every day, huh? Yocam defended the company's continued production (of the Apple II) "..the product with its increasingly outdated technology." "There have been too many people on the outside trying to say that Apple is trying to kill the Apple II. That's b_______," he said. He also mentioned that buyers who still purchase upward of $1 billion in Apple II equiptment each year, will determine when the product was dropped and when Apple would produce a transition product of some kind.. Perhaps the so called "bridge"??? -- unknown@ucscb.ucsc.edu
