[comp.sys.apple] Dearchiving D.Code

Les_Ferch.@MTSG.UBC.CA (12/10/89)

A lot of people, uh, "informed" me that Shrinkit 140K disk archives
can be dearchived to other disk formats. Yes, I admit I've never
read the Shrinkit manual - there is (usually) no need as the program
is so bloody easy to use thanks to Andy's wonderful design. When I
dearchived a 140K disk, Shrinkit presented the prompt "Unshrink to
(140k) disk". Hey, I can follow simple directions, but I decided
trying to unshrink to /RAM5 anyhow. That, most of you probably
know, won't work with a 140K disk archive. So I gave up at that
point and used a machine that had a 5.25".

After being politely informed by others here that I can dearchive to
a 3.5" disk I tried it, and (like I'm sure the manual says) it
works. However, the D.Code disk is half ProDOS and half DOS 3.3, so
I'm sure you can understand the potential for confusion. Oh well,
live and learn. :)
