[comp.sys.apple] FOR SALE: Apple II,IIGS software

rankins@zaire.crd.ge.com (raymond r rankins) (12/05/89)

I've decide to get out of development for Apple II's other than the IIGS
so I've got for sale the foloowing:

MANX Aztec C-65c C compiler for the //e,//c,IIGS (in //e emulation
mode). This is the full development system which retails
for $299. I'm selling it for $175 or best offer.

Zedcor ZBASIC Basic compiler for the //e,//c,IIGS (in //e emulation
mode). Mail Order best price is $39 from Programs Plus.
                I'm selling it for $25.

I've also decided I prefer programming in C on the IIGS so I'm also selling
the following:

The Byte Works ORCA/Pascal w/Desktop Debugger for the IIGS.
Best mail order price is $80 from Programs Plus. I'm selling
it for $60 or best offer.

For you musicians out there, I have the following:

Korg 4 Track MIDI Sequencer for the Apple //e only. It is NOT
compatable with the IIGS, hence the reason I am selling
it. It requires a Passport internal MIDI interface card.
(Actually, it is Passport software that was licensed by
Korg). I originally paid $99 for it. I'd like to get
$30 - $40 for it, or any reasonable offer. It's only
                gathering dust for me.

Well, the response to my first posting was not very overwhelming, so I'm
posting it again with new LOWER prices!!! (I thought my original prices
were pretty reasonable, but I guess I was mistaken). Well, here they
are again. (C'mon people, I really need the money for Christmas!)

MANX Aztec C-65c C compiler for the //e,//c,IIGS (in //e emulation
mode). This is the full development system which retails

--------------->NEW PRICE:  $125
(If you want to develop in C for the 8 bit Apples, this
                 is about your only choice.)

Zedcor ZBASIC Basic compiler for the //e,//c,IIGS (in //e emulation
mode). Mail Order best price is $39 from Programs Plus.
                I'm selling it for $25.
--------------->NEW PRICE: $20 or best offer
(This is a very powerful BASIC compiler with a nice
full screen editor and lots of additional capabilities
                 over Applesoft BASIC)

case with all manuals. Would make a great gift)

I recently received a mail reply informing me that my above statement was
wrong. The following is that reply:

    Subject: You are wrong

I am VIRTUALLY positive that at least one of the C compilers for
the GS can also make 8 bit code.

That is, your statement saying something like MANX C is the only
C compiler for 8 bit Apples is wrong.
AND THAT DOESNT EVEN MENTION HYPERC which you should have seen talked
about if you read the net!!
    --
    unknown@ucscb.ucsc.edu

Which GS compiler would that be? I only know of the APW and ORCA C
compilers, and I've never read or heard that either one of those
generated 8 bit code. And yes, I'm aware of HyperC, but I'm also
aware that HyperC is no longer supported.

Besides, I didn't say that MANX C was the only choice, I said it was
ABOUT the only choice. And, since it is the only supported version of
C that runs on 8 bit Apples, I'd say that it is a basically true statement.

Maybe I should have been more clear and said:
(If you want to develop in C ON 8 bit Apples, this
                                 ^^
is about your only choice for a full featured and supported
     C compiler)

And what is this "unknown@ucscb.ucsc.edu" stuff. If you are going
to flame somebody, at least have the decency of letting them know who is
they are being flamed by.

Just wanted to get this off my chest.
