I happen to agree with the above thoughts. Take two *separate* votes
on procedural grounds.

    Vote 1:  Change name from Comp.Sys.Apple ==> Comp.Sys.Apple2
             (probably less controversial, short time period)
    Vote 2:  Create Comp.Sys.Apple2.Tech
             (probably more controversial, longer time period &
              timed to be after exams and vacation)

Note that a new twist has appeared with regard to creation of new groups.
Within the _21_ days of voting permitted, to get a new group you need a) 100
more yes than no votes AND b) 2/3 of the votes need to be yes. In the past, I
found it tough just to get a - I couldnt find 100 folks to vote yes for
comp.binaries.apple2 !!!! But if you folks decide to conduct a vote on this
some day, let us know.

I didn't know we were taking a vote yet. I thought it was only discussion
going on. Who said the vote had started???

If we're going to do it, lets do it!
