A while back, someone posted crack and cheat patches for the game Xenocide, by Micro Revelations. Shortly following that, was a prolonged discussion about the authors' methods of protection and whether or not protection was a good idea. I remember reading that the author planned to slightly alter his code periodically to keep any one patch from becoming viable. It seems this has worked. Does anyone have a current patch to allow Xenocide to run from a hard disk without the original in the drive at all times, or a new patch to cheat for unlimited men etc.? If so, please mail me a copy. Thanks. +----------------------------------------------------------------+ |Rob Knauerhase |Case Western Reserve University| |rck@ces.cwru.edu |CREN (BitNET): Knauer@CWRU | |rck@scl.cwru.edu |GEnie: R.Knauerhase | |"Beware the Turing tar pit, where everything is possible, | | but nothing of interest is easy." | +----------------------------------------------------------------+
