I haven't received info-apple mail in 2 days
and am checking to see if this goes through.

apple.com is :Host is unreachable.

You must be NEW at this! Actually, service has been FAR better than
most holiday weekends of the past several years (I'll probably have a
link crash this afternoon for saying so).

If 'apple.com' is "unreachable" it follows that 'apple.com' (and probably
lots of other places) can't reach you to deliver mail either. Fear not,
some gnome will return from celebrating Winter Soltice, Yulefest, or whatever
and restore whatever link has crashed during a period of 'unattended mode'
operation. Then you'll get a flood of back mail including a smattering
of silly "why haven't I heard from info-apple in 'k' days" messages.

Note that during holiday breaks when service is slow the rate of replies
to email drops and info-apple (aka comp.sys.apple) actually drops to a volume
ordinary humans can keep up with).
