we should each be treated with appropriate respect."

After Chandra said this, the audience gave a mild cheer and scattered
applause!  (This was at the San Jose Century 24, Silicon Valley land).

Actually the scenes with Chandra and HAL were more moving than any between the
two-bit humanoids.  I really *DID* get choked up at the end, and found
Chandra's urge for respect for intelligent beings regardless of their
"composition" very forceful.
