My roommate who isn't a regular computer user [except on mine to play games!] said something that seemed to make a lot of sense when I talked about the noise in the speakers from the disk drive running and interrupts and sometimes it seems from just the computer running... Is there any reason why a filter such as the kind used on CAR STEREOS to remove noise from the stereo system created by the car's electrical system wouldn't work between a sound card and speakers? Is there already one in existance that has a headphone type jack on both sides (one side to plug into my new stereo card and one to plug into my new Bose Roommate speakers)??? If not, does anyone see any reasons why or why not it would be possible to modify a current one? [I honestly don't know what they even look like at this point... I've just heard of them and should have gotten one for my car long ago.. I get noise in my car stereo ONLY WHEN THE dashboard light is on.. if headlights are on but no dashboard light, no noise..weird huh??? Sorry.. ran on a bit] Also, apparently there's a virus in Jam Session. At first I wasn't going to call it a virus, but it does overwrite the battery backup ram so it seems to be doing enough damage to call it a virus... It sets the border, background, and text colors to BLACK.. And it must have done something with my startup drive setting because all it would do was give the regular error message when there's not a disk in the drive even though there WAS. I was freaked for a few secs until I just did the reset-system-standards option. [^option-reset or whatever] Remember people.. you can still get on this deal to get a 20 megabyte floppy drive for $475...
