[comp.sys.apple] File Manager, posted to comp.binaries.apple2

hartkopf@tramp.Colorado.EDU (Jeff Hartkopf) (01/19/90)

I'm posting File Manager version 1.0, a shareware new desk accessory
written by me, to comp.binaries.apple2. It requires System Software
5.0 or later to run. For a brief summary of what it does, I'll quote
from the included documentation:

"File Manager is a new desk accessory for the Apple IIGS which
provides you with several of the most useful file manipulation
capabilities under GS/OS. Once it is properly installed, you will
be able to instantly perform the following operations from any
standard desktop application:

<> view the contents of a disk or folder
<> create a new folder
<> delete files and folders
<> rename a file
<> move a file between folders of the same disk
<> copy a file of any type from disk to disk or folder to folder
<> list a file's GS/OS file type name, size and other characteristics
<> examine and change a file's type, auxiliary type and access
   attributes
<> view a file in a movable, resizeable, scrolling window

"You will no longer need to switch back to the Finder or run another
utility program for simple tasks. In fact, File Manager offers
several useful capabilities that are not available in the Finder.

"In addition, File Manager has an intuitive, icon-based interface
that makes it very easy to use."

So let me know what you think of it, and please upload it to
information services and bulletin boards. And if you like it and
decide to keep it, please pay the shareware fee. Thanks!
