Subj: HELP, need memory upgrade for Apple ][.

After talking to a major sw/hw distributor in California I was
able to confirm that Applied Engineering does indeed offer a
16K expansion board for the Apple ][. Their phone number is
214-241-6060. The price of the board is $99.

I am not positive of my source, but I seem to remember that
JDR Microdevices or possibly Jameco Electronics sell a 16K board for the
Apple ][ for --MUCH MUCH-- less than $99! Just look in an InCider or
old A+ or something and you're BOUND to find a much cheaper price.

The October 1989 inCider/A+ (yeah, I'm behind the times) has a JameCo ad
offering a 16K card for $34.95. They have some other stuff listed, too,
like a //e 80 col/64K card for $39.95, a parallel printer card for $39.95,
etc. I've never bought anything from JameCo, but I hear they're a reputable
company.

Along a similar line, any computer flea market or surplus store would be a good
place to look. Since it is such an old computer, hardware for those machines is
usually pretty cheap. Check also in Computer Shopper. While it may be hard to
find an Apple specific ad, there usually are one or two.

Price Busters (formerly Nexo Distribution) has a lang. card for $34.

I've got several of their cards in my computers, and have been very happy
with them

They're at 4233 Spring Street, Suite 402, La Mesa, CA 92041, and their
phone is 619-589-0081.
