OK, I give up on guessing! What is this "APPLE2-L" that everybody keeps
referring to? I take it that it's an archive somewhere, but where? How can
you access it from Internet? A full domain name would be nice.

Apple2-L is the fileserv at Brown University which holds all the uploads to the comp.sys.apple discussion board. To get information, type: TELL FILESERV AT BROWNVM LIST.Apple2-L (for an updated list)

APPLE2-L is a *LIST* on a BITNET server known as a LISTSERV (amazingly enough, incredible numbers of computer users have difficulty telling one from another -- but that's another story). LISTSERV's respond to message (from other BITNET hosts) or to email. On the other hand, the folks at Brown's computer center have concluded you just have an extremely aggressive case of earwax.
