I am writing in support of the Apple GS and in agreement with the letter from Philip Mc Dunough which appeared recently on this news group. I own a Mac ll, a Mac SE/30 and a GS and I also use a Sun workstation and numerous IBM- type machines on the job. I must say that for sheer versatility and 'fun' of use the GS is by far my favorite. Not only is it a responsive and intelligent terminal in a UNIX environment but it is also a very good computer to use for business or educational purposes that is a lot of fun to use.The colors are exquisite and the sound capabilities spectacular. It's easy to program and its compatibility can range from that of the elementary school student to the family user and the sophisticated professional or academic. I'm talking about the GS right now. If Apple chooses to speed it up it can only get better. As these news groups attest there is a wealth of programming talent out there right now writing excellent public domain software for the GS. May they continue. It's easy to find something wrong with any type of modern electronic marvel. I spent the whole weekend looking at laptops and aside from the Mac Portable with its superhigh price didn't see anything that didn't have serious flaws. Lets use and enjoy the GS and look forward to future developments of this very versatile machine.
