I also have questions about RAM cards. I currently have a 1.25 Meg ROM 01 Apple IIgs. This is no longer sufficient to compile a program that I am working on. I would like to upgrade my machine to 2 megs with a possibility of going higher (4 megs?). I obviously cannot add any memory to my Apple Expanded Memory Card so I am just going to yank it out and buy something else. (Anyone want to buy it?) I have found a place where I can get 1 Meg 80ns RAM SIMMS for 67$. Therefore, a memory card that supports SIMMS would be preferred. The only one that I know that does this is the OctoRAM card by MDIdeas. I cannot find their phone number anywhere. I also have not seen anyone that sells 0K OctoRAM cards. (I found one that sold a OctoRAM's with 1 meg worth of 256K chips but that is a waste) Does anyone have any information on this card and/or MDIdeas? I know that the card is not DMA compatible but I don't think I care. (Should I care? Please let me know). Also, please tell me any other alternatives to my memory dillemma. It appears that I can get a 0K OctoRAM somewhere for $100 + 2 Megs for $140 + some shipping and all brings that total to around $260. Can anyone beat that kind of price on something different? Thanks for the info..... Reply via mail..... I'll summarize....
