I've been reading all these slurs against Supergirl, an obviously outstanding motion picture event, and I cannot just sit here and be quiet anymore. I'll admit that there may have been a couple of plot flaws, but I thought it hung together rather well. Some people had problems with an instant mountain in the middle of town, but, hey, that happens all the time here in Ohio. And the burundi wand...how can anyone doubt it's credibility? And just because an entire city depends on an octahedron (or whatever it was supposed to be), why not be playing around with it at a shopping mall? But seriously, if you treat it as an audience participation movie, it is great. We were rolling in the aisles (and getting stuck on the spilled drinks, mushy used popcorn, etc.) it was so funny. Brenda Vaccaro was terrific, and undoubtedly will win Best Supporting Actress for her role. So let's stop slamming this movie. By the way, it wasn't until after the fourth time I saw it that I noticed the plot flaws. They were very subtle, and probably only picked up by the most astute observer. ...bob garmise...at&t bell labs, columbus...

I heard from several different sources that SUPERGIRL was one of the worst movies of the decade, (no matter what comes out later this decade)!!!! But I guess there are some adults out there who just love the SMURFS. Life goes on. David B. . . . . . \/
