I recently discovered that FTP had been added to our system, but every node I try to FTP comes back with the reply 'Unknown Host' Is there special trick to using FTP?

If you don't have a nameserver, then you'll have to use the ipaddress for the sites. Here's a few decent sites for Apple stuff... Site name ARPA number ------------------------------------- husc6.harvard.edu 128.103.1.56 him1.umich.edu 35.1.1.43 f.ms.uky.edu 128.163.128.6 apple.com 130.43.2.2 plains.nodak.edu 134.129.111.64 cunixc.cc.columbia.edu 128.59.40.130 zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu 128.174.20.50 shark.nosc.mil 128.49.80.1 Try using the numbers, ie "ftp 130.43.2.2". Hope this stuff helps... -Greg T.
