Ben,
I recently found a file on BIX called TIFFDOC.ARC that contains three
files describing the Tag Image File Format Rev 4.0, dated April 31, 1987,
written by Tim Davenport of Aldus Corp and Manny Vellon of Microsoft. It
looks like it provides as much details as one might want (although I have not
written any applications based on it yet). The .ARC file is about 28K and
requires a program on the apple such as DEARC2E (*NOT* DEARCGS, because that
program does not yet support the particular data compression method used in
TIFFDOC.ARC). If getting these files is a problem, let me know and perhaps
I can send you a disk of AWP files via USSnail.
