[comp.sys.apple] Complete AXEL-F for SoundSmith requested

shatara@memit.enet.dec.com (Chris Shatara) (03/02/90)

Has anyone gotten a COMPLETE AXEL-F for soundsmith? I pulled off parts 1
of 2 and 2 of 2 off of comp.binaries.apple2 a while back and I just got
around this evening to unpacking them. It appears that these were not
complete files. BINSCII unpacked $3000 bytes starting at 0 and another
$3000 bytes starting at $009000.

I looked at the resulting SHK file with SHRINKIT and there were 3
instrument files in the archieve although I expect they were not totally
intack. Hs anyone had the same experience? Does anyone have a complete
file to beam onto the net?

/chris

Yes. My experience was the same.

The reason for SoundSmith's Axel-F not to work is because in the BinSCIIed
file, the requisite 'FiLeStArT...' headers in the later part is missing.
Use a text editor to add the lines at the right place, and the file
will unBinSCII properly.

I had no trouble with mine. If you would like I'll pack it up and send it to
you. Send me a reminder note and your bitnet address.

p.s. What songs do you have for soundsmith? I'm looking for any I can find.
I only have about 5 songs.
